"Been a good computer, fan very loud and can't upgrade"
Pros: Dell offered 3.2ghz cpu which is as good as new models now, 64mb graphics card has been sufficient for modern games, lots of usb ports
Cons: Fan cranks up very loud, hard to upgrade
Summary: Been a really nice computer for me, nice performance, many of the upgrades Dell offered are still viable and competes with newer models. The 64mb ATI x300 has been sufficient to run games like Oblivion (after killing a lot of processes) but today I can't for the life of me find a half-height upgrade card. Maybe I can get one from Dell since they sell the form-factor XPS. It has a ton of USB ports but I neglected to get the card reader or firewire cards which for some reason never saw on the order site. The biggest problem is that it gets hot quickly and the power supply fan cranks up super loud, like flying in an airplane. It is probably due to the fact that the case is plastic and not aluminium like many of the small form-factors. The bios does not let you control temperature or fans either. I've tolerated this but I won't ever buy another like it until they solve for the fan issue.
