    Pros: CHEAP for a Reason

    Cons: Will not last !!

    Summary: I have had experience with 2 of these Dell 1100's and they both quit working for the same reason, the mother board went on them. Both were about 15 months old and Dell wanted $700.00 to fix them. Do NOT waste your Money on this one.

    My Dell Inspiron 1100 is about 4 years old and it is still working- which is somewhat of a miracle cause the thing died within the first year due to water damage- I sent it back and I sent it into a shop and both were unable to get it working- but eventually i fixed it.

    The system does overheat, continually, which I had attributed to the fact that I always use it on my bed which limited the air circulation. But my brother has a Compaq which overheated one time and the whole system fried. so now I think that maybe Dell isn't so bad since it always starts up again.

    Aside from the overheating issue, my major qualm is the DVD drive - I'm on my third one. I didn't even use this one 3 times and it doesn't work now.

    I am looking now for a new system as this 20 GB HD is no longer able to accomadate my needs.

    I've had one minor problem which tech support helped and easily fixed. Other than that I'm pleased with my 1100.
