"This Is NOT a New Machine!!!"

    by johnb6597 on March 28, 2007

    Pros: Everything...I Love It

Cons: Internal TV Tuner Would Be Nice

Summary: I have no idea why CNET is only just now, in March 2007, profiling this excellent laptop. I bought one in FEBRUARY of 2006 (yes, 13 months ago), and have loved it ever since getting it out of the box. The E1705 is big and heavy, but I have taken it on a bunch of international business trips and have never regretted it. The screen is its best feature, but the built-in wi-fi and Bluetooth are also excellent. Ordered mine with the 2GB of RAM and the 100GB 7200rpm hard drive and they've been great. Not a single thing on this machine has disappointed me...except that CNET sure took its time in reviewing it.

I have this notebook computer with the T7400 Core 2 Duo processor and the GeForce GS 9500 graphics card. It's overheating constantly when playing high demanding games like C&C ver. 3. It's worthless to invest into the highest performance version of this notebook computer, the cooling cannot handle the heat of the components installed!!!

How much did you pay? John?

I may be wrong John, but I think Dell released this machine earlier with a Core Duo then only recently added the Core 2 Duo to future models (and, unfortunately, Vista). This review was based on the newer Core 2 Duo - but again, I could be wrong.
