"Terrible Support/Constant Failures"
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Terrible Service!!! Over 30 PC's have already had MB replaced.
Summary: I actually signed up just to make this post. I am currently running over 800 dell computers in an international network and most work fine. The 280 has a problem with their capacitors that they are trying to fix. I had 30 motherboards go bad in 2 months. Everytime I called Dell I had to hassle my way to get it fixed, talk to numerous technicians, supervisors ect. I even wrote a letter to Kevin Rollins (CEO) and pasted it into a Customer Satisfaction Survey to get some help (that works well). I sit on hold for 30 minutes at a time (note that I pay for Gold Support, an extra fee at purchase). I never receive return phone calls or follow ups. In one case, the tech marked the case as 'parts replaced, system working' and he never even stopped by the office to replace the parts. TERRIBLE TECH SUPPORT TEAM. These PC's are inexpensive, and operate, but if you have a problem, good luck fighting for help. The money spent in my wages fixing these things could have replaced half of the bad PC's.
ALSO*** The CRT monitors that come with these systems, namely the M783s are absolute GARBAGE. A third of them were bad right out of the box and had to be replaced with refurbished models (thanks dell- i didnt buy a brand new one or anything...). Another third of them went bad within a month. NEVER buy the CRT's that come with this PC.
