"I really like this laptop, no regrets"
Pros: cheap, light weight, monitor nice & bright, easy to update
Cons: poor battery, terrible speaker (only one speaker), some small keys
Summary: I got this at walmart for around $500 and upgraded to the extra 512MB, targus laptop bag and a really nifty miniglow optical usb mouse. That stuff was another $100 or so + tax. Let me tell you that after I had purchased it I had regreted it and called walmart to cancel. Of course, it wasn't cancelled because it arrived at my doorstep in one day. So, I thought I would open it and give it a try. I could always return it, right!? Well, I was very amazed at the quality of this cheap laptop. I like the vista, keyboard and mouse pad. I will not be returning it! It has 3 usb ports, a dvd burner and not much else. This was all I was looking for, just something to surf the web with and do photo stuff. No major gaming or massive technical stuff. I upgraded the memory myself and I have never done anything like that. All you have to do is remove battery, unscrew, pop it open and place that card in at an angle and it pops in there. I couldn't believe how easy that was (even though I was prying it open with a knife "scarey" I thought I was going to break it). Anyway, there is no lag when running vista and the speed has greatly improved. I don't think it would be very good without the upgrade. If you compare this to other 1 GB vista laptops it's a great buy. I bought a small b-flex usb speaker for better sound. There are also 6 cell batteries which would provide better life, but I just use it plugged in most of the time so the 3 cell battery doesn't bother me. A few of the keys are smaller than I am used to, but I am sure I will get used to it. In summary, if you need a basic laptop (upgraded) and do not have a lot of money (like me) this is the way to go!
