The LifeBook Q2010, Fujitsu's latest entry into the ultraportable market, is extremely light and exceedingly expensive. The 12.1-inch, wide-screen-display (with a native resolution of 1,280x800) notebook weighs in at 2.3 pounds, and its price ranges from $1,999 to $3,199 and can go higher should you choose to add accessories. All LifeBook Q2010 configurations are based on an Intel Core Solo processor running at 1.2GHz, either 512MB or 1GB of 533MHz RAM, and 4,200rpm hard drives in capacities between 30GB and 80GB. The display features a reflective coating and is powered by the Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics subsystem. Networking connections include Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g and a 56Kbps modem; Bluetooth 2.0 is optional. The LifeBook Q2010 has no optical drive (for that you need to purchase a $299 media-base-style dock), but it has most other ports and features that business users will need. It has two USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire port, VGA out, ports for microphone and headphones, a CardBus card slot (but not the latest ExpressCard slot), and a Secure Digital memory card reader. The LifeBook Q2010 also includes a fingerprint reader and a Trusted Platform Module for maximum security. The optional dock includes a dual-layer DVD burner, four additional USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet jack, VGA out, a microphone port, and a headphone port. Our top-of-the-line LifeBook Q2010 review unit cost $3,498. That buys you a 1.2GHz Intel Core Duo processor; 1GB of 533MHz RAM; an 80GB, 4,200rpm hard drive; an additional high-capacity battery; and a dock with a dual-layer DVD burner.
