"ANYTHING but a GATEWAY"
Pros: normal easy keyboard? customer service answers the phone? you get to use the warranty
Cons: Screen flickers off repeatedly, terribly short battery life, poor quality piece of junk
Summary: Basically, we bought our Gateway new at Best Buy. The first one we exchanged at Best Buy in the first 30 days. It wouldn't turn on.
Best Buy replaced it with a brand new Gateway. The screen went out in less than 60 days. Gateway's customer service reps in India are very friendly. They sent a box with a shipping label and it was quickly sent back to them for repair. Too Quickly!!! This happened at least 4 times in one year. They were never able to fix the screen properly and they often removed software off of our computer when it was sent in. We only had a one year warranty and each time they tried to fix the screen they warrantied that work for 30 days. The screen still flickers and turns black and it's simply a worthless computer. While shopping for a new laptop t replace it, I decided to do others a favor and tell you our experience with Gateway. They are NOT made the way they used to be.
What good does a warranty do you if they aren't capable of fixing their manufacturing problems?
