"Rock solid performance and great looking laptop."
Pros: Great looking laptop, love the one button startup for the DVDs, Pictures and CD music i.e. Quickplay. The built-in stereo Altec Lansing Speakers sound pretty darn good.
Cons: HP does not offer a Nvidia version or a 5400-RPM 100Gig drive and the 12-cell battery is a bit bigger making the laptop lift up in the back.
Summary: Great looking laptop; love that Qickplay buttons for your media DVD, Pictures and CD music. The boot up is fast and setup is a breeze. The 15.4 in. Wide View screen is huge; so if you are used to the standard laptop screen like me you don?t want the extra size, weight and of course cost of a 17 in. screen. This is a perfect size for most of us even Gamers.
The speed of the AMD 64 Turion ML-40 makes this an awesome entertainment or gaming system and it?s still VISTA (Windows 64 Bit) ready.
The 12-cell battery is a bit bigger so it makes the laptop sit up a little higher in the rear and a bit harder to put in to the optional Swiss Gear Backpack I went with, but it still fits.
Now after all that the battery life is excellent, with an extra 12-cell you can work close to 10 hours with one shutdown; oh I mean Hibernate so you can switch batteries.
