"Almost a perfect 10. Wanted to leave some room."
Pros: Lightweight, nice screen size, no picture taking delay
Cons: 3x optical zoom
Summary: I went ahead and replaced my 3 year old Canon Powershot S400 with the HP R727, and so far I'm very happy with my purchase. Loving the big LCD screen, compared to my tiny LCD screen on my Canon. No optical viewfinder though, which I guess is the growing trend among slim sized digital cameras. I love the small, fairly thin, and lightweight casing of the camera. Fits perfectly in my hands, and the buttons are right there at my fingertips. The in-camera help menus are a great feature as well, along with the photo advisor software in playback mode which reviews pictures I take and suggests any improvements if needed. There's no delay in pressing the button and the camera taking the picture, unlike the half-second delay in my old Canon. Wouldn't expect such a great camera from HP, but I'm convinced.
