Performance ranking is predicated primarily on uptime, with secondary emphasis on the download time of a 10K file. Those ranked in the Platinum, Gold, and Silver categories all achieved uptimes of 100 percent, so the load-time percentile ranking acts as the discriminating factor.
Explanation of load-time grading
This measurement is the time it takes to open a connection to your server and the data-transfer rate of your server in bytes per second (BPS). The data-transfer rate is determined by the total download time needed for a file as well as the file's size. We use the BPS number to compute the time that would be required to download a theoretical 10K file, which ensures that comparisons across servers are roughly equal. Your grade and ranking are based on this download time, plus the time required to establish a connection. Performers are not ranked within their groups.
