Pros: I've been using with Debian GNU/Linux and it is 100% compatible... great machine and very fast with customized kernel... perfect!!!

"Depends on what you need it for..."
Pros: Screen size, Lots of bays, very sturdy body, great keyboard.
Cons: Heats up like crazy after 20 mins or so. Small hard drive. This computer has its problems but all in all it is a great computer for students.

Pros: lots of power
Cons: it crashes a lot - IBM support always tells me to do a total reinstall which I did once - now I used other software to recover my system flies, chkdsk usually fixes problems with the boot sector.
