Quick Take: The JVC GR-D270 is an inexpensive MiniDV camcorder with a 25X optical zoom. It's identical to the more expensive JVC GR-D295 but does not come with the remote control and extra battery included with that model. The GR-D270 is also essentially the same camera as the slightly lower-priced JVC GR-D250, with the addition of an SD/MMC card slot and a USB port for saving and downloading stills, a built-in video light, a few special-effects features, and included PC software.
