    "Better pray it doesn't break!"

    Pros: Liked it while it worked

    Cons: Video card (deflection card) blows out frequently, LG's customer service is ATROCIOUS!!!

    Summary: We loved this TV for the first year and a half we had it, but then one of the video cards blew out. I've since learned this is a common problem with LG plasma TVs. We had sounds but no video feed - only a black screen. Thankfully (or so we thought) the TV is covered by a 2 year warranty. So we called LG and they provided the name of the one and only TV repair shop in our area that is LG authorized.

    Long story short, the TV shop took a week to even decide they had the time to look at it then took another week just to confirm with LG that it was covered under warranty and to price the parts. They then told us LG parts were taking on average 3 weeks to come in and then it would take a week or so from there to fix it.

    We called LG and, after taking a week to get through to the right person, they told us that their warranty policy states if a shop can't fix it in 15 business days (3 weeks) they will replace it. Great news! So she starts the paperwork for this. Which takes another week, plus we're told it will take 10-14 business days to review the case!!

    After that, we would need to pick up our old TV from the shop and return it to where we bought it and the retailer would then, with the authorization of a letter received from LG, allow an exchange for an equivalent model of equal of lesser value. Of course, this TV is no longer sold where we bought it and the only equivalent model is of much lesser value. Upon pointing this out we were told we are more than welcome to pay the additional amount if we choose to do so. We asked if they were truly willing to leave their product and customer service in the hands of the retailer and they basically told us to take a hike, it is what it is. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
