"Excelent phone, buy right away if you can get your hands on it!!!!!" on by money11465
Pros: Lots of features, easy to use, get free stuff immediately
Cons: None; I love this phone! (except it's hard to find in stores)
Summary: Have you ever heard that Europe and Japan are far more advanced in technology than we are? Well, it's true. This phone is so great it is not yet sold in the US. This phone works all over the world, gets great reception where no other phone does (I've tried it in a mall bathroom), has gret battery life, a large screen, gets great speech quality, can take hi-res photos (1.3 meg) and video, has an MP3 player with sound quality of an iPod, has radio which remembers the names of stations, just like sattelite radio but there are no monthly contracts, and has a very clear recording mechanism. Furthermore, it has an alarm clock, a synchronisation feature to be used with Nkois' special sync software, a to-do list with alert, an easy to browse gallery, where all recordings, ringtones, pictures, video, music files, and all the files on the memory card are kept. In addition, it has an advanced currency converter, a world clock, and a translator (for the frequent flyer), MMS and SMS (Multimedia Messaging Service and Short Messaging Service, respectively), a notepad, and a wallet function. It also has USB, Bluetooth, and infrared connectivity, it has PTT (Push To Talk), has voice recognition, can use any MP3 as a ringtone (so ringtones are exactly the real song and they're free), has a memory card, upgradable to 2 GB or whatever you want to buy, can use real images as wallpaper (the images are not pulled out of proportion thanks to Nokia's specail clipping technology), can use a video clip or slide show (also uploadable through the memory card) as a screensaver, etc, etc, etc! I could go on and on! And most importantly of all, it will work with any service provider as long as the company usues SIM Cards for their phones (that's now the industry standard).

"Exceptional series 40 phone. Very nice." on by tomsky
Pros: Well endowed with features. Attractive. 208x208 screen. MP3 player. 32 MB internal mem.
Cons: Keypad not the best for texting.
Summary: I'm not sure how long exactly this phone has been around, but as software for it becomes more widespread it should become a very reasonable mobile gaming platform even. It stands out from many other phones with it's 208x208 screen (also 65 K colors). Physically the screen is NOT oversized, so that screen resolution counts entirely towards excellent clarity and sharpness.
Good MP3 player: officially it can take up to a 512 MB MMC for up to 8 hours of MP3 music. I have a Kingston 512 MB MMC+ myself which works fine. According to some users of the phone, it can even take 1GB MMC's, but I haven't confirmed this myself. It's reported that some 6230i's don't handle AAC files reliably, but you'll have no problems using the standard MP3 format.
It has a radio too.
Keypad is not the greatest for texting. With the oversized keys down the middle, your thumb needs to strain for the side keys. With some ergonomic adjustments however it's doable and I've gotten used to it.
It's well endowed overall: big 32 MB internal mem, bluetooth, infrared, gprs, xthml, wap, pop3/smtp email, mms, streaming, synchronizeable organizer, push to talk, etc.
Oh and stereo headset included
It's not a smart phone, but I'm pleased with it. Exceptional phone for series 40.Updated
I forgot to mention the 1.3 megapixel camera as a "pro" for this phone. It's nice to get big pictures. Camera also adjusts well to lighting conditions. Remember though that color depth is only 65K; that to some extent takes away from the advantage of high pixel resolution depending on the picture. -
"This is a GOOD phone for average user" on by atomlwl
Pros: picture is clear, voice is loud & clear, user friendly.
Cons: A bit lag at the beginning when you leave it in sleeping mode, but after using it for a few seconds, it will back to normal speed. so i think it's OK
Summary: only thing is that, it's not a 3G phone, else i give it *10/10* perfect.
camera is good and clear, video normal, sound great / clear / loud! Price average. So i think good phone. -
"Superb phone" on by hermann_da_german
Pros: best nokia phone I've ever had
Cons: maybe the dust on the screen
Summary: this is the best nokia phone I have ever had...everything works great. The screen is the best one I have seen in some time! The camara has 1.3megapixels, radio is good, mp3 is great (unless you want to store more than 30 songs)!! The only thing I would say annoys me on this phone is that I have to take the cover off so I can clear the screen from dust.

"An elegant, sophisticated cellular phone with superb features." on by lukedeee
Pros: Built in radio, 1.3 MP camera, straightforward navigation, ability to record conversations up to one hour, nice contacts organisation and accessability
Cons: No 3G, quite chunky, sometimes slow navigation
Summary: Obviously 'zerohour' needs his head examined. Quite clearly one of Nokia's best to date.
'Had 2 batteries replaced already, leave it on overnight and it will last you 1 month probably if you are lucky.'
I do not understand how leaving on your cell phone can possibility diminish the battery life significantly enough to last only one month.
'For nerds or for idiots who like to flash'
No, zerohour, its just a phone that needs some basic intelligence to operate, it's not a walkie-talkie.
