Onkyo has created the ultimate theater package by combining the HT-R410 5.1-channel DTS/Dolby Pro Logic II home theater receiver with the brand new DV-CP701 state-of-the-art 6-disc DVD changer and paired it with a 5.1-channel speaker package that features an earth rumbling 150-watt subwoofer. The result is the simplest way to truly bring out the best sound and picture quality from your favorite DVDs.
The included receiver is designed to deliver as much as 100 W of power into 8 ohms with no more than 0.08 % THD to each of its five channels (two front, one center and two surrounds) to fill even most of the largest rooms with levels of sound from the most subtle to the most dynamic.
The performance of Onkyo's higher-end receivers is available at a fraction of the cost by sharing many of the same precision parts and circuit design (WRAT, Non-Scaling Configuration, discrete output stage circuitry) as its more expensive siblings. Adding Onkyo exclusives like Optimum Gain Volume circuitry and CinemaFILTER simply brings out the best in your DTS and Dolby Digital encoded movies and music. There's even Dolby Pro Logic II to further enhance the listening enjoyment of your two channel sources.
Previously crossover frequency was fixed at 80 Hz. With Crossover Adjustment, you can set the frequency at 60/80/100/120 or 150 Hz depending on your speaker's bass playback ability. This lets you more accurately match the performance characteristics of the subwoofer to your front speakers.
Onkyo's commitment to bringing the most user-friendly designed products to market further manifests itself with color-coded inputs and outputs. Now you'll no longer have worries about which cable goes to which input or output. Simply attach the color-coded speaker cable to the same colored input or output for fast and easy connection.
The perfect blend of high-performance video and audio combined with 6-disc convenience in one slim package makes this the perfect DVD player for all your needs. Add in the ability to play limitless combinations of DVDs, music CDs, MP3 and WMA CDs, and even those pictures of your last vacation on JPEG or Kodak picture encoded CDs. All of this brought to you from state-of-the-art 192 kHz/24-bit audio DACs and a 54 MHz/10-bit video DAC for one of the most technologically advanced carousel changers on the market. Best bang for buck (but big)by - September 1, 2004
Pros: This is a great system. I picked it up for about $430 from J&R music. For that price I thought it was a no brainer. After I convinced my wife that the speakers would blend in, I was very happy to get this system. In retrospect I might have even gone f
Cons: Typically what others have said, wire is too small, I used regular electrical wire, remote is pretty bad but not horrible and the speakers are big, but they make up for it by sounding great.

Great buy, one of the best I've ever madeby - November 29, 2003
Pros: This system is amazing. I hooked it up with another company's CD/DVD player and it blows the walls down when the volume is turned up. Distortion ensues after that, but anything beyond 70 for a prolonged period of time would probably be extremely damaging
Cons: I can understand how it'd be a little difficult to get used to and learn all the features, but I'm an electrical engineer and I had no problem whatsoever.
