"Excellent product in price range"
Pros: Bass and Treble Boost in any audio format
Cons: None so far
Summary: I looked around for a few weeks and compared a few different receivers. I went to a audio/visual specialist and heard many different high end receivers and they sounded great but I was not sold, I then visited Best Buy, Circuit City and all the other electronic stores in my area. I had not decided on this one until I heard it at Circuit City, I assume it was hooked up to a set of high end speakers and that added to its great sound. I purchased it at Fry?s for 399.00
The unit sounds great and has many listing modes. Set up was a breeze because it comes with a set up microphone and all the settings are on the TV screen. I especially like the bass and treble control as I could not find that feature in many of the other receivers. I am using the Video connections as well and they are very easy to use. I have a Pioneer receiver in my front room and I enjoy this unit much more.Updated
I have owned this player for about a year now and have found it to be a great value. As I mentioned in my first review the player was hooked up to some high end speakers when I first heard it in circuit city. I just added new speakers to the system and the sound is awesome. With the new tech coming out you may look into getting a receiver with a HDMI input/output..I recently purchased a new TV and it has HDMI input to get the best picture. I have been using component cables from my receiver in the past so I will run the HDMI independent of the receiver for my DVD player..overall this is a great receiver for the money if you do not need HDMI upconversion..
