"Great Picture WHEN it works -- Service TERRIBLE"
Pros: Competitive price, great picture
Cons: Warrnaty/Customer Service Nonexistent
Summary: I purchased the set on 1/1/05 from Butterfly Photo. Set failed on 4/29/05. Independent servicer came out on 5/3/05 for "in home" service. They left with TV. Diagnosis: Failed tuner. Est. turnaround 4-5 days. Parts didn't arrive for two weeks. Installed parts failed in shop. On 6/2/05, servicer called to say "we are first on the list" for new parts. Panasonic gave no est. delivery date. Servicer confessed that usual turnaround for Panasonic LCDs is 4 to 8 weeks. Repeated calls to Panasonic were accompanied by 30 minute holds. Their only follow-up was with servicer, not with me. I now want my money back. Butterfly Photo says its not their problem - LCD sets are not returnable. This is a good reason not to buy big $ items online. Waiting to see if Butterfly will help put pressure on Panasonic. This was my first and last purchase from Panasonic. TV has now been down for 33 days. My next step is to take legal action. A product is only as good as the company that stands behind it. This delay is inexcusable.
