"Disappointed with my Rio"
Pros: Sounds quality great, longevity between recharg great
Cons: Can't upload more songs, have to PAY for tech help
Summary: Loved my Rio. I use it when riding my bike and going to the gym. It lasts a long time between recharges. I've had it several years now. The size is great and it stores alot of music. HOWEVER, I went to load more songs in it last week and the rio got stuck in the "waiting" mode. I attemped to connect to my Rio Manager and get a note that says "Failed to connect to player, Data block failed" I went to contact the Rio Tech Support and find they want $19.95 for EACH time you need them. If they can't help you they will offer to send a credit toward the purchase of a new Rio.I have already paid $150 for this little machine. So, I take the chance of calling and paying for tech help and them telling me they can't help me. I don't want their credit, if my machine is not fixable then I'll buy another brand with FREE TECH SUPPORT. I loved my rio but it is dispensible and I can buy another brand. I've not paid for help yet and am debating whether to do so or not. This displeases me very much. So, think twice before buying this rio. My son's rio says it needs to upgrade but when we have tried that nothing happens. So, there is a total of $40 the tech people could make off us with the exception that my son bought a Zune. I may too... It's a shame that Rio is doing this to it's customers.
