Cons: I did notice that the 720P mode seemed to work best on my TV. 1080I came up and did look a little sharper(A tiny bit but more grainy-like) but I did notice on Dark Set scenes that there was some flicking in the background on 1080I only but not on 720.

Pros: Sleek look. Status display. Can use 1080i output to adjust geometry, etc.. I see a marked improvement on all DVDs I've watched. Seems to have a line doubler which pretty much eliminates the scan lines seen in normal DVD output. Superbit redition of The Fi
Cons: Remote sucks as usual. Doesn't play mpegs! No SD card slot. I'd wait to buy unless you just need to adjust your HDTV geometry!

Cons: Samsung's R&D dept needs to be fired--if using HDMI connection, you have to hook up the standard cables first, run set up on the 841 to set default to HDMI, and then (on the Sony HD XBR960)switch to a different video channel to choose "yes" on the 841

Pros: Upconterting sortof works
Cons: Doesn't play burned dvds well or sometimes at all
Summary: I got this free 2 years ago when i bought my HDTV, but now I'd like to upgrade if there is a better Upconverting DVD player out there.
I know that the new HD-DVD players upconvert, for example.
This player works well for the cheap price, but usually I don't notice much difference when I try to upconvert my dvds.
Also, it doesn't play many of my burned dvds well or at all. -
