Product description from manufacturer
DVD-P701 high-resolution DVD player with progressive scan features dual laser diode pickup system. It uses separate laser diodes for CDs and DVDs allowing accurate data transfer from virtually any disc. Unlike traditional single pickup systems that are designed for DVD, the Samsung dual laser diode system can read both CD-R discs. DVD-P701 has enhanced user convenience function, such as screen fit, action capture, chapter digest, and headphone jack with volume control. 2x audio playback allows the soundtrack to be heard even when video is playing at twice the normal speed. Thanks to an advanced processing algorithm, voices sound clear and natural in spite of the high-speed playback. High-speed 96kHz/24 bit audio digital to analog converters deliver pristine audio quality from every disc. Most importantly, DVD-P701 accurately reproduces the latest audio discs that are recorded in the 96kHz/24 bit format. Left/right audio output terminals allow the DVD to be used with a Dolby Pro-Logic receiver. Dolby Digital and DTS-compatible digital output terminals provide a direct connection to a full Dolby Digital receiver or external digital to analog converter. Both optical and coaxial terminals are provided. 3:2 pull-down progressive scan displays all 480 lines in one pass to provide high vertical resolution and flicker-free, high-density images that do not suffer during subject movement that is characteristic on conventional interlaced scanning methods. Jog/shuttle dial control system allows the user to scan forward and backward intuitively with a turn of the shuttle ring, or to pause the player and dial to exactly the frame of interest. 10-bit video digital to analog converter system ensures precise playback of the high resolution DVD video signal. Analog video components are also selected to optimize performance. Component video output terminals provide the optimum connection between your DVD and an advanced direct view or projection TV system. In addition, these component connections will be the ideal way to interface the DVD with upcoming HDTV display devices from Samsung.
