"Great HDTV at a bargain price!"
Pros: Cost: under $1100; excellent picture with 1080P sources such as Blu-Ray; Menu easy to navigate; Vivid colors and natural flesh tones.
Cons: Remote should be back-lit; long turn-on time; need to be in the "sweet spot" for the best picture; picture with standard definition could be better (but see my comment about calibration below).
Summary: Out-of-the box the picture is great, but I am having one of the "Geek Squad" come to calibrate the picture: I will be anxious to see if there is a significant difference (I will be amazed if there is a very noticeable difference, the picture now is that good!). As this model is being discontinued (and Sony is getting out of the rear projector set market), this is a good time to pick-up a fine HDTV at a rock-bottom price (I actually paid $1185 at Best Buy, but found the same tv at Sears for $155 less, so Best Buy refunded me the difference). I also have a Samsung front projector (720P), which provides a larger picture but not the detail that the Sony provides. All-in-all, I am very satisfied (the 3 year financing at Best Buy with no interest if paid before the end of the 3 years was also an inducement to purchase).
