"Powerful, huge, and NOT mobile..."
Pros: 16.1" display is awesome, sound is good, very quick and capable for its time. Able to run most games.
Cons: Too big to carry comfortably, battery life around 45 mins w/ screen dimmed! Also, mine runs very hot, and fan is constantly on!

Pros: I own three Lap Top, two of them are from a very top class companies and they work well, but this VAIO is from another world. I recomend it 100% Frank I.

"Desktop replacement laptop of choice."
Pros: The best screen on the market (SXGA+ 1400x1050 is exactly perfect on 16.1", I switched from 21" Sony Trinitron CRT monitor and have no problems working on this machine 10 hours straight; something I cannot say about IBM Thinkpads), fast and responsive 64M
Cons: Rather too large and too heavy for day-in-day-out mobility (you will need a backpack, forget about using a briefcase), very weak 4200RPM hard-drive (make sure to upgrade to Toshiba Travelstar 9.5mm 7200RPM to boost system performance significantly), rathe
