"Great design, poor performance"
Pros: Ultraportability, fingerprint reader, SD card reader
Cons: Only 1 USB port, Abysmally slow with Vista, Non-functional CD drive
Summary: Sony has the the physical aspects down pat, with ideal size and design, such as the multimedia controls. However what spoiled this laptop from being a 10 is the bang for the buck. For such an expensive piece of equipment, I would expect more than a solo core processor and 60GB ram. This serves for long life battery purposes, but as a student, the lagging loading and operation of Vista combined with a faulty CD drive that will not open, is disaster. My PC which is several years older is considerably faster, and I am very disappointed with my purchase.Updated
Having taken it in for repairs, I learned that the optical drive is defective. Well, I know can expect it to be in repair for several weeks. For such a pricey product the machinery should be perform much better.
