"Broken bulb after 2 months"
Pros: good picture and reasonably priced
Cons: bulb burned out after 2 months
Summary: This is my first large screen TV. The picture looks great with my HD directtv and xbox 360. Unfortunately, the bulb burned out after 2 months of below average use (1 to 2 hours a day). Fortunately, Toshiba was able to provide good customer support.I am currently waiting for a new bulb to be fedexed.
Most of the TVs that I have used in the past lasted 10 to 20 years and are under $300. I hope this is not a trend for high def TVs.Updated
It has been about two weeks since the bulb burned out and I called Toshiba for a replacement. I have called again today 2/15/06 and they have not sent the bulb because it is in back order.
Are you kidding me? Does this television model break that often. I will follow-up once the bulb arrives in "7 to 10 days"
PS. It makeas a great decoration pieceUpdated
After about a month, I finally got my bulb. For those of you who do not know, all broken bulbs are returned and refurbished. For now, my TV is back for the basic essential: directtv, xbox360.
I will write again if I have another problem.

It was around the same time you report... 2/06 when our 1st bulb blew out after less than 2 months. We were without a TV for over 4 weeks. Now it is 11/06, less than 1 year since we purchased TV and are on our 4th bulb (3 have blown out). Many others reporting same problems. Toshiba keeps delivering defective TVs and not doing anything besides replacing bulbs till 1 year warranty runs out. At this rate it will cost us $900+ a year ($300 per bulb) to operate our TV after the warranty runs out. Never ever buy Toshiba. They are happy to take your money, deliver a defective product, and then do nothing at all to help.
