We took our Qosmio to italy on vacation, we brought a few DVD's for those occassions when we wanted something American. We were able to watch the DVD video using the remote control in 16x9 Wide screen, good sound and a GREAT picture. And NO, Windows was not booted. There are a couple complaints I have with the Q G15 I have, but they have nothing to do with what you mentioned. Besides if memory serves you did not even try it, you were guessing...why would you write a report about something you know nothing of.
