Pros: It may be improved ... but

Cons: Are they still using offshore tech support? What about IRS audit support?

Summary: I was a long time user of Turbo Tax and subscribed to their subscription for almost 8 years until ... I needed tech support and couldn't figure out why Turbo Tax would not allow me to use my American Express credit card to pay what I owed.

Found out that tech support was based offshore in the Phillippines!

The person at the other end had no clue what to do, so I had to figure it out for myself and spent half the night trying to figure this out along with help from American Express.

I have since cancelled my Turbo Tax subscription and specifically told the CRS that I do not want any literature emailed or mailed to my home. In October of last year, what do I get in my mailbox? A letter from Intuit and a Federal copy of Turbo Tax.

I'm switching over to Tax Cut which is written by tax professionals and the fact that Tax Cut (with limitations) will provide "human" audit defense in the event that my taxes are audited by the IRS.

Beats having a software box defending you against an audit.
