I would give it a big fat Z E R O !
Pros: none whatsoever!

I'm SO FRUSTRATED. There seems to be no way to have more than one file. The copies and back-ups never open properly, and lots of entries disappear into thin air. Secondly, it CRASHES a lot. There's no way to sort all of the entry fields. It's not intuitive, and wow, call help desk and you'll get some guy in India that you can't understand. It really sucks!

CNET Editors are on crack
Pros: N O N E--absolutely useless software, Intuit robbed me. Class action anyone?

Absolutely the worst piece of software I have ever installed. It is beyond belief that they charge for this garbage. This crap hasn't even been beta tested unless you count the Gorillas at the bronx zoo rubbing the discs in their feces.
I can't believe the editors at CNET gave this garbage an 8 -- their software must have had an 8 ball or two of pure columbian coke in it.
Software like this makes you realize that class action cases are warranted in situations like this -- where a company has charged you for something that is totally unuseable.

I tried to use this thing six months ago and gave up. Now, I gave it another try: Wouldn't recognize bank transactions, brokerage transactions. Wouldn't quit, save.

If you have to upgrade, you have to upgrade
Pros: Some new features, but do you really need them

After reading the horror stories about the "fun" others had in upgrading to Q06, I came to the realization that if you want to use any of the data download features in Quicken, that you have to upgrade. After April 25th, Intuit's basically forcing a significant change in the file formats used for uploading/downloading data, making older versions useless.
So I ordered Q06 for the Mac and held my breath. The first "surprise" was that if you're upgrading from Q03, your stock sales data is no longer accurate.
I found a .pdf file on the install Q06 CD informing me that I would have to go back and check each and every stock/mutual fund sale since the beginning of time. Intuit suggests that before upgrading you print out a complete history of your stock sales. After the upgrade, you go back and do a sale-by-sale check to see which of the data didn't make it over to Q06 intact. I had 35 pages of data and there was no way I was going to do that. I opted to do the upgrade and adjust the 2006 data. I guess if I need the older data, I can always run Q03 and get the information that way.
The second surprise, although I fully expected it from a company that's world reknown for its lack of customer serive, is that the latest CD still requires the user to download and install the latest "fix" software, in this case R4.
I was content with Q03, and if I didn't need the automated downloading feature, I would have stayed with Q03. I don't like it when I'm faced with a decision that amounts to either buying and using Q06 for the downloading ability while losing the historical accuracy of my 8 years of stock transactions OR staying with Q03 and finding another way to input the daily stock prices.

Is Intuit abandoning Mac users?
Pros: Intuit promptly refunded my money.
Cons: Can't open data files from older version; can't import OFX files directly; bank must support Mac version specifically for auto downloads to work.

I'm a new Mac user, having used various PC versions of Quicken since version 3.0 for DOS-- most recently Quicken 2001 deluxe. I was sorely disappointed in Quicken 2006 for Mac. First, it could not recognize my .QDB data files from Quicken 2001, requiring me to first save them (on the PC) in QIF format, which introduced errors throughout five years worth of financial data. Second, it appears that a financial institution must not only support Quicken, but must specifically support the Mac version (read: pay additional licensing fees to Intuit) in order for one-click transaction downloading to work. OK, no problem; my bank lets me download OFX files directly, which I can then import into Quicken... NOT! In Quicken, OFX import only works with one-click transaction download, which your financial institution must specifically enable. (OFX stands for Open Financial Exchange. Hey, Intuit, what part of "Open" do you not understand???) Intuit makes software that's supposed to make my life simpler, right? This, just a couple of years after I had to rebuild my PC system thanks to TurboTax's copy protection trashing my boot sector. Thanks, Intuit.
So, in the end, rather than being stuck with a program that effectively required me to manually enter transactions (no improvement over my previous software), I called Intuit and requested a refund, which their customer service representative politely granted. I'm now waffling between running Moneydance on my Mac, or keeping a Windows PC alive in order to run Microsoft Money; both of them at least allow me to import OFX files.
So, in the end, rather than being stuck with a program that effectively required me to manually enter transactions (no improvement over my previous software), I called Intuit and requested a refund, which their customer service representative politely granted. A Piece of Garbage!
Pros: Ease of Purchasing via the web.
Cons: The entire program.

I purchased and downloaded this verision for my MAC the other day. Even after installing their latest update the program constantly crashes in Tiger. You can not backup your files, create new files or make copies of old files.
On top of this if you wish to revert back to an earlier version make sure you have a backup of your files in that version.
Technical support is the pits. They constantly asked me the same question over and over, even after I had supplied them with the answer. Then I sent an email and they send me instructions for the WINDOWS program even though my email stated I had the MAC version.
I have requested a refund and reverted to my 2004 version of Quicken until I find something else to us.
