"100% Performer! Better than others costing $199.00"4.5 starson by boxcarro
Pros: NO CONFLICTS, GREAT GAIN, SPEED, EASY SET-UP
Cons: NO EXTERNAL ANTENNA CONNEXTION
Summary: After reading those other CLEARLY IDIOTS bashing this WiFi Card, I was IMPELLED to EXPELL the EXECRETEMENT these CRETINS posted. I am a FOLK SINGER/BOXCARRO GUITARRO/ and TRAVEL ON TRAINS. This Said, I WANT STRONG SIGNAL GAIN, And NOT TO WASTE PRECIOUS BATTERY RESERVES by FIDDLING with a Poor, Difficult, Weak or Cumbersome WiFi Card.
I Upgraded to THIS from a N*****R 108 Mbps Wireless "G" Which was GREAT! BUT THE D-LINK is GREAT FACTORED by ~3!
It Is TOTALLY COMPATABLE with NETWORK STUMBLER/ CAIN&ABEL, I find the CONNEXTION WIZARD which came with it FINE for Starbucks ETC. I can SWITCH BETWIXT the 2 Different Cards (To Change MAC Address) With No Confusion. The ENTIRE Experiance makes me a "HAPPY HIPPIE HOBO!"
(I HAVE NOT LOADED LINUX on this LAPTOP yet, So I Do Not Know If The D-Link will Werk Under Linux. In The Past I Was Gravely Dissapointed By D-Link's Non-Compatability with LINUX...)
I Use a OLDER PENTIUM 3, 700 MegaCycles, Dell L400 EXTREMELY MOBILE Notebook, (less than 3 Pounds WITH Battery, 10.5 INCH Screen) I Use WINDOWS 2000Professional OS 256 MBs RAM, and a 30 Gig HDD.
THIS CARD HAS CONNECTED and RECEIVED STRONG SIGNALS over 400 YARDS from INSIDE A STEEL RAILROAD BOXCAR, FROM SIDE WITH DOOR SHUT! I would say that's a pretty good POINT OF RECCOMENDATION!!!!!!!!
