Summary: I puchased the DWL-G650 card as part of a the DWL-925 D-Link AirPlus XtremeG Wireless Networking Kit. The software installation instructions were not easy to follow, and required several attempts before I succeeded. On my IBM ThinkPad with Windows 98SE, the software caused the system to hang during shutdown, every time. Last week, after using the card intermittently for less than 2 months, it failed. The LEDs blink during power-up, but the system no longer recognizes the card and won't load the drivers during boot. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver software and found that the uninstall program doesn't work at all. It goes through the motions and appears to uninstall the D-Link software, but when I check the program folders and the Windows Registry, all the files and registry keys are still there. In the end, I ended up manually editing the Windows Registry to remove the keys and had to manually delete the program folder before I could re-install the software. After all that, it still doesn't work. Shoddy software, shoddy hardware. Stay away from this product.
