A solid, reliable card.
Old and uncessary.
There's little reason to get a Fast Ethernet card anymore, current motherboards have that routinely built into them now, but before then it was a great reliable card that set up painlesslly.

Lacks stable drivers
While working for a cable modem provider we started installing this nic in customers computers that did not have a network card already installed. For this device Netgear put out one driver for all operating systems. This resulted in an unstable product. Our help desk opened trouble ticket after ticket on problems with the fa310. Netgears engineering department told us they were working on it. A month later, still no stable drivers. We finally switched to another brand card.
I have had ZERO issues with this card. I did end up calling Support for something and they were great too. I don't know this Hornedogg1 talked to but you can't base judgement of an entire or department company on just one phone call.
