Pros I added the card to my T3 and WOW...now I have wireless internet! This is awesome.
Cons Wait so...you all are giving bad reviews to a product that you have never used because it doesn't support your Palm...Thats like a guy complaining about a a pair of pantyhoes because the company didn't offer a jock strap.
Pros Small, Easy to Install
Cons Doesnt support standard encryption.
Summary This product is inferior. Nearly all WiFi routers, access points, and cards support encryption in WEP and WPA. This only supports WEP. WPA is used more and more, yet they didn't support it when they created this card. Instead, they only support WPA on their newest, expensive "Life Drive". In fact, SanDisk tried to create a WiFi card for the Palm, but Palm wouldnt cooperate. Who wants to do business with a company as backward thinking who misses modern technology in a new product.
Pros its funny how all of the cons are from people who don't own a product that this device is compatible on...if you've actually tried it. THIS is a great ad on.
Cons wish it had memory on it too
Pros Easy installation, works great
Cons Easy to Break it not taken care of
Summary Installation was a breeze. I installed the software and inserted the WiFi card. By merely entering my WEP key, I had wireless access to the Internet almost instantly. The PalmOne Wifi card is an excellent investment if you really need it.
Although it doesnt have built-in memory like the "Sandisk", that so many people wish to have, it does have excellent range. I do not need to face this problem for I own a Tungsten T5. You must expect drainage of battery, because it is a wireless device! Many people complain about this. The new Palm TX with integrated WiFi faces the some problem when the WiFi is turned on.
People must also stop giving bad reviews of this product, just because it does not support your device. Of the Palm-based devices that are incompatible, this is because the SD/MMC/SDIO slot cannot support the data throughput.
To only true problem that i see with this is the fact that is sticks out of the Palm device. If not taken care of properly, you might easily break it.
Pros It can connect sometimes
Cons cheaply made, overheats, drains battery, falls apart
Summary I bought this card to connect with my Palm T5 (that's a whole other story. The card worked at first (although only sometimes) but started to fall apart pretty quickly. I had to break off the pieces around the card connection because they kept moving over and therefore not allowing it to connect to the palm properly. Graduallly, it's just fallen apart. Could be because when it actually works, it gets so hot, it probably melts it's case! Not to mention it drains the battery so you only really get maybe an hour on a fully charged T5.I don't know which is worse anymore, my T5 or this card. You can't really do much with it anyways, because without the storage on the device, you can't download a lot of pages (because you'd have to take out the card and insert the SD card (which of course cuts you off the web). For the $100 to replace it, i may as well put the money towards a wifi device now!
