"The BEST USB Adapter Available" on by hybridamp

Pros: Fantastic Reception, Fast & Easy USB Installation

    Cons: Price & Cosmetics

Summary: This unit is a little expensive, but it is the best USB adapter I have ever used and trust me, I have tried a LOT of brands! Phenomenal reception compared to other devices and setup is easy! If it gives you problems, you need to update your PC (windows update) and remove all that spyware/virii you have. ;)

"Works decently, though very sensitive to aiming and height" on

    Pros: Simple install. Works.

Cons: More sensitive to position than similar devices. The positional sensitivity is probably the root of others' issues with the device.

"Some trouble but works fine" on by Chuck Rossman

    Pros: Size, customer support

    Cons: Installation Instruction

Summary: I thought I wrote a review earlier but it doesn't look like it went through. Good thing because I gave the adapter a 1. When I orginally installed it the adapter did not work. Found out that if you are using XP you should not install the Linksys software. Tried to unload the driver through Control Panel and it locked. Called customer service and they supplied me with a registry cleaner. That worked and I removed the driver. Then I plugged in the adapter and windows loaded the dirver and I used the Windows network software to set up. After that I kept losing connections and called user support again. They tried numerous fixes without help. Went on the internet and found that if the 802.11 authentication box is checked this problem occurs. Sure enough the box was checked and after unchecking it, the adapter works fine. Customer service was excellent even though they did not help me with the real problem and as I said earlier the unit is working fine and from a considerable distance from the access point. I would recomend it but from what I have read, there is a DLink model that is better.

"Good Network Adapter" on by DaveMcLain

Pros: Easy to configure, works nicely

Cons: Possibly more limited range than PCI version

Summary: I own 2 of these adapters and I've used them quite a bit with very good results. Connection speed is good and connection is stable as long as there is adequate signal strength. One area that could possibly be improved would be to make it so that a larger antenna could be fitted to improve reception in fringe areas of the network. I do think that the Linksys PCI adapter has a bit more range but this adapter can be moved around easily to find the best reception, all in all very good and well designed with a good driver.

"Best bang for the buck" on by ADFIT

Pros: Best that I came across for the price point

Cons: Rather see a better way of mounting instead of adhesive

Summary: I have tried Net Gear and D-Link and had constant problems with keeping the signal. Got this Linksys USB Wireless Adapter and the problems went away.
