"Nice Phone."
Pros: Great Range, Talk Time, Voice Quality and, Speaker Phone Is Killer
Cons: Ringer Could Have a Louder Setting.
Summary: I just got cable IP phone service. Wanting to give the DECT thing a whirl I chose this phone on a friends praise for the speaker phone function. And I have used Uniden stuff for years and like the brand. I have the 1080, the only difference being an answering machine.
The range from inside my house to the other side of my neighbors lot is at least 100 yards untill it started sounding weired. They claim it will go up to 300 if the base is outside also.
Voice quality is great on both ends.
The speaker phone is awesome! No more "Whats wrong with your phone?" Nice job Uniden!
The feel in my hand is good and I can press all the buttons with my thumb without tossing it around in my hand. I hate 4 way disc type buttons and there is none here. It looks more elegant live than the pics on screen and will blend in to any decor.
Answering machine control from the handset is nice too.
The little oddities:
The ringer could be louder at the maximum setting. It's not bad but one tends to think it should be able go higher if needed. Not a deal breaker and it does not reflect on the other audio functions as they can be too loud set to maximum. Having CNN on kind of loud so I can cook and listen, hearing it ring in another room is no problem.
The time displays in 24 hour format only. Again, not a deal breaker.
The date shows the month, then day. 09/21, I don't care.
I would give this phone a higher rating if it were not for the ringer volume.
