Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010 (CD-ROM, 1-Year License)

Pros: Got it for free with purchase of new computer

Cons: Everything else!!! Freezes computer, makes computer run SUPER SLOW (mouse barely moves), can't run internet

Summary: Received a free subscription with the purchase of new computer. When we installed it, it was a nightmare!! First of all, it took a long time to install. Then, when trying to update its databases, it stayed at 0% for 20 minutes before cancelling the update. Then it kept popping up with "databases are obsolete" trying to get you to update. We tried, but it would NEVER update itself. On top of that, it made the comupter run gosh awful slow. You couldn't click on anything, becaue the mouse never got there; when you finally got somewhere, nothing would react for atleast a minute. Alt-F4 wouldn't work, and we couldn't get the task manager to even come up--had to hold power button to turn it off. Upon reboot, no improvement on speed, and couldn't use the internet! Thank goodness I (very slowly) was able to the uninstall screen and took it off. Hopefully no more problems. I just wish we had read the reviews on this and its previous versions (same thing happens in older versions of this ridiculous software) before trying to install it. I've used AVG for years and will definitely download the free version of it instead of using the Kaspersky garbage!!!
