"Just uninstalled it"on by DaGeek9
Pros I could not find any
Cons Made my my computer run slow
Summary From now on I will trust the user reviews on a product. I just uninstalled it because of the lag it put on my system.
Pros Well, it does detect some virus...
Cons The startup time is so much longer with this installed, and OS became so sluggish after install
Summary This thing is way too demanding on system ressources. I install AV software to protect my PC from viruses that will make the system slower, but installing Norton is like getting a virus. Everything is screwed up, everything becomes slower, it's terrible.
"Fat, bloated."on by inkadinka12
Pros It is adequate at times.
Cons Bloatware. Too much for too little.
Summary Norton has continued to expand the footprint of their software to touch more and more of the computers it is installed on. That can cause problems if it doesn't work perfectly, and no software works perfectly. They need to slim this sucker down.
Pros seems swifter than earlier versions
Cons Causes Eudora 7.1 to freeze
Summary If you use Eudora for email, don't use NAV. It causes the Eudora to freeze for as long as a minute when you star it tup, and again when you close it.
Turning off the scan for outgoing email doesn't help.
Very upsetting. Now I know what "supported" (or "not supported") means. It doesn't just ignore the program, it trashes it.
Some reviews said not supported but a Comparison Chart said it was supported.
At least as far as the trialware goes, it's bad news.
Norton 360 causes a similar problem, by the way.
Pros The Best--Without a Doubt.
Cons The Best--Without a Doubt.
Summary I have been using Norton Anti Virus for over 10 years. I recommend NAV to about 200+ students and customers a year. Why use Norton Anti Virus????
Ease of Installation.
Little or no user interactivity is needed, however, if the user desires to configure the software, it is not Rhodes scholar material.
Buy it. Period.
