Pros: What is interesting about this product is that it's early in its life cycle. This means is that because of its ability to be updated via a wireless network as it sits on your wall, this product will become more feature rich as it matures.

Cons: Yes, it isn't cheap but early adopters of technology normally bear the costs of new products.

Summary: While I have had intelligent thermostats before, this is the first one that really plays to the ease of installation and programming of a common person. Obviously you need to understand some technology concepts and will need to have Internet service and a wireless access point in your home. That in itself will take this product out of consideration to some individuals. In my case the energy savings will not be as great since I was one who fully used the setback features that were in my old thermostat. What I find though is that the the functionality is so much easier and faster to use. Combine that with a thermostat that can auto detect when you aren't in your home and make adjustments in the thermostat to save energy, and the ability to use an app on your Apple or Android phones or tablets makes this a winner in my circle.
