Freakin' fantastic

Pros: GREAT value; apps are fun and easy to use; pretty much everything

Cons: Nothing really

Review: iLife is totally worth the money if you do anything whatsoever with multimedia on your computer. I agree with cougarswimnlax08 in that this app is a huge benefit of using Mac over Windows.

One of the bigger things Apple holds over Windows

Pros: it's apple, easy to use, perfect for multi-media management

Cons: iPhoto has trouble printing correctly :(

Review: I bought a new iBook 3 weeks ago and have since moved my 1,300 songs over and also imported 2,400 photos with it. And all I can say is that without iTunes, and iPhoto, it wouldn't have been so smooth. The iLife suite is awsome! Rock solid performance and each program is SO INCREDIBLY easy to use. iTunes speaks for itself, it just works. iPhoto is awsome, it has great ways to manage and store photos. But there ae some features that are missing. First, the only way to view photos on your full screen is to build a slideshow. This doesn't make sense to me, why can't there be a button that lets you view the picture full screen without making a slideshow? Hopefully this will be fixed in iLife 06. The worst problem that I have had is printing out photos on 4 x 6 photo paper. I have a Epson C86 and I can't get it to print it on the full 4 x 6 paper!!! Sometimes I could get it to print on the 4 x 6 but it wouldn't be fully a 4 x 6. Other times it thought it was printing on a normal sheet of paper and only a corner of the photo even got on the paper. This has been so frustrating to me that it's the reason i give iLife a 7. If anyone has any ideas please email me at cougarswimnlax08@verizon.net. iMovie works wonders too. It took me maybe 10 minutes to understand the interface and really fly through making a movie of my vacation. One thing I didn't figure out was that I couldn't put a picture behind the title, it had to be a solid color. I haven't played around with Garage Band yet, I doubt i ever will. All in all iLife is a great program but has some problems that could be easily fixed by Apple.

Zero training product

Pros: Very easy to use, it just does it all for you

Cons: You need a mac to run it on (?)

Review: Undaunted with the fact that a new Mac Mini dropped through the door filled with a new interface and strange new keys, my family poked and prodded the little thing. Then before I could run and hide from the myriad of questions out of the printer came a few photos, on the screen was a slide show.

Somehow they had plugged in the camera and it magically helped them do things that in my usual PC world would be a whole heap of pain. Within a week or so, there were complete photo albums, nicely arranged with their own slide show and music. The kids busy themselves making music (I think thats what it's called) with GarageBand, and compiling video's of me sleeping, snoring and other antics.

It's amazing though ? they have had no training. The Mac and iLife applications just cuddle them through the process of creating music, videos, and photo sharing.

It's just a shame that OSX doesnt run on a standard windows/intel type platform... if it did no one would install Windows.

I Couldn't Live Without It

Pros: Easy to use, good applications, great for desktop users

Cons: If you don't get it free, it is discouraging

Review: Luckily with my iBook I recieved iLife free! I was quite happy when I saw that it included applications to do many things that I need out of my Mac.

I used iTunes for all sorts of music stuff. Podcast, my iPod, to store all of my music. It serves as a great way to keep all my music in one location with everything neatly labled, rated, etc.

iPhoto is another great tool. You can easily add your photos. It is also great as you can apply keywords to each photo, this makes finding photos quicker, and easier. I haven't tried the make a book tool, but it looked pretty neat.

iMovie and iDVD are okay, they're useful applications for most things, but not if you want something professional. They serve as a nice tool for things like home movies, but nothing professional.

If you have a Mac you should look into the iLife Suite '05. It is well worth your money. All the applications are easy to use and get the job done - with quality.
