Pros Looks nice
Cons Old, old technnology at outrageous cost
Summary Bose hasn't done anything special since back when I was in high school. If Paul Harvey Senior were alive, I wonder if he would still think they sounded so great compared to the competition?
I agree with what the other reviewer said about finding a good set of speakers (I'm a huge Paradigm fan) and a reasonable receiver.
Bose is overpriced technology from 20 years ago.
Pros Excellent sound for the size
Cons Somewhat dated design
Summary I bought the Bose acoustic wave II and the Geneva Sound L at the same time so I could compare them at home. The Geneva was absolutely beautifuly constructed and would play at very high volumes but it simply didn't sound as good as the Bose acoustic wave. I returned the Geneva and happily kept the Bose.
Apparently it seems some people don't like Bose, which is fine, but they seem to be personally offended by the very existence of the company. Very strange.
Pros No wires
No hiss no buzz
1 piece masterpiece
Flawless FM no FM's hiss buzzz wuzz
Amazing Hidden potential
Play Loud and no distortion
Cons Below average bass on some music.
Sounds average on Ipod even with Ipod EQ tweaking. Don't bother with the Ipod dock. Sounds bad if you allow this wave system's Eq to play music
Summary I was quite disappointed when I hooked this thing on my Ipod. It sounded average and the bass is always on the adequate level. I thought to myself if this thing can play louder bass it would be perfect.
This thing sucks if you allow Its own EQ to play most genre of music. Bose Acoustic wave own EQ is only catered classical, Jazz and R&B. The sound quality has nothing to do with its build quality of this product. If you didn't explore this product further enough, then 3 words, "this thing sucks".
I used to thought that its waveguide coupled with a 4.5 inch woofer was purely over hyped. Since the bass was relative weak on most music. I have no issue with its stereo 2.5 inch driver and it is indeed fantastic.
Exporing further I found its hidden potential when I hooked up this thing using Aux onto my computer's system. As expected nothing changes only until I started try to tune up my computer sound card's EQ to a typical V shape. The acoustic wave rocks. This thing can play cinematic sound and earth shaking bass with just a 4.5 inch woofer if you tune in the right EQ in your computer.
In conclusion, this thing can play really well if you have a good external source of EQ. Beware that Ipod's own EQ Tweaking feature is not good enough on the Acoustic wave. The external hardware/software equalizer must come with 100,200,400,600,1k,3k,6k,12k,14k,16k. Its waveguide technology is not over hyped at all until you explore it further.
"A BIG JOKE !"on by studdaa
Pros IT LOOKS NICE
Cons I HAVE HAD BOSE SPEAKERS IN PAST , THEY WHERE GREAT , THIS CRAP IS A COMPLETE RIP OFF , POOR SOUND QUALITY , AND I PUT IT IN A BEDROOM , I REPLACED IT WITH A 250.00 PANASONIC SYSTEM , THAT SOUNDS WAY BETTER
Summary I PAID CLOSE TO 1500.00 DOLLARS FOR THIS JUNK , BOSE WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER CENT FROM ME , SEND THESE GUYS A MESSEGE , DO NOT BUY A THING FROM THEM , I WANT QUALITY SOUND , NOT AN OVERPRICE PIECE OF JUNK , THAT LOOKS GOOD . THEY ARE STEALING MONEY .
