"No detailed hardware description"
2.5 starson by ComputeResquePros: KISS = Kept it Simple Stupid
Cons: USB 2 and microSDXC Class 2
Summary: Jane15:37:40
Hello ComputeResque. How may I help you?
ComputeResque15:39:03
Where are the hardware specifications for each player? microSDXC memory class requirements? microSDXC max memory support, etc...
Jane15:39:41
Are you trying to know the files supported by the USB channel on Roku?
ComputeResque15:40:59
No, got that. Does roku support Class 6 microSDXC memory? if so, what is the maxium sized ram supported?
Jane15:43:56
Actually, Roku supports a maximum of 32gb for Sd card/
ComputeResque15:44:12
What Class? Class 2, 4, 6, 10 or 16?
Jane15:44:48
Clsss 2.
ComputeResque15:46:47
Only 2MB/s? When 10MB/s can be bought... That is terrible. When will a firmware update be available?
Jane15:49:07
As of the moment, we still don't have the ETa on when will be the software upgraded for our roku players.
ComputeResque15:50:52
Is the microSDXC slot used to buffer streaming content?
Jane15:51:29
Nope. It wis use for storing channel on roku .
ComputeResque15:52:58
If there is a hardware specification table on the web, where is it?
INTERNAL RAM SIZE, PROCESSOR TYPE, CLOCK SPEED, SDHC, USB specification (do not give lowest acceptable, but highest)
Jane15:55:44
Let me check that.
Please give me a moment.
ComputeResque15:58:15
microSDXC?
Jane15:59:16
With regards to USB specification, you may check this link:http://support.roku.com/entries/423946-what-media-file-types-does-the-roku-usb-media-player-channel-support
This is with regards to the Micro Sd:http://support.roku.com/entries/20288957-what-types-of-microsd-cards-are-supported-on-the-roku-2-players
ComputeResque16:03:48
as I said, had both pages... one page says it need microSDXC speed of 12Mbps Peak speed but your device only supports 2Mbps... contradiction
16:04:31
WHAT CLASS IS THE USB? CLASS 2 OR 3?
Jane16:04:54
Class 2 for USB.
Micro SD for Roku does not have any specifications for speed(MBPS). The MBPS (type of measurement) is only use for the broadband connection requirement for the roku unit.
With regards to the Micro SD, Roku specifies that it should have a minimum of 2GB storage

You say ruko will only pull information at Class 2 speed 2 Mb/s.
Jane16:13:07
The table is for USB drives actually. It is not applicable for the Micro Sd cards since SD card are only use for storage.
ComputeResque16:14:26
That was my question. what is the maximum MicroSD Class supported?
Jane16:16:53
I'm sorry but our system does not specify the Speed Class Rating of the micro Sd card to be use on Roku. It only specifies Class 2 with a minimum of 2GB storage.
ComputeResque16:17:56
Beside the two URLS you shared....
If there is a ruko hardware specification table on the web, where is it?
Jane16:21:48
We don't have another link for the hardware specification for the roku players aside from the 2 urls I have given a while ago. We have the product comparison table.
ComputeResque16:22:23
I have seen it. Not what I am asking for.....What file system does ruko support for owner storage? FAT32, exFAT, UFS, EXT3, or ReiseFS?
Jane16:23:27
Roku player supports FAT32.
It is because we are having issues on NTFS.
ComputeResque16:26:32
exactly! NTFS is a memory based system. FAT is on the block device. Hence, why microsoft was walked to blessing the exFAT system.
Jane16:30:36
YEs , that would be the case. However, we cannot give you the full details of it. Our Roku players are designed by our engineers in that way due ton the software installed on the unit.
ComputeResque16:32:19
This has been disappointing. I was jazzed to get a ruko. It seems the specifications are so basement level. Your engineers have planned the device lifespan of only two years. If I wanted that; I'd get an appletv.
