"Best Value for intended purpose"
Pros: Great Sound Quality, PC Interface, and tech support.
Cons: Must be set up VERY carefully.
Summary: At one third the price of other Network capable receivers requiring ethernet input, once you do the Media 11 firmware fix which Yamaha tech support sends by email within 5 minutes of a telephone request (no waiting on hold) with easy to follow PDF file directions, Windows Media Player 11 data will show up on your TV screen and you can access your PC music and playlists by using the Yamaha remote. You will never again have to burn a CD to play on your home audio system. Note: installation of the A/V extender on your computer and getting all the settings right requires some expertise. So if you lack the expertise - do as I did and pay the $100 to have it done professionally. It sure beats paying another $800 for the closest priced receiver (Dennon). Lack of HDMI did not stop the unit from producing outstanding sound from our Sony Bravia HDTV on our high end home audio system. Also - sure makes you love Amazon.com's DRM free music downloads!Updated

To find out all the neat stuff this thing will do with internet radio and other features. A post by J. Niemann dated Sept 2, 2007 provides a thorough review plus tips on how to get the biggest bang for your buck including the following advice:
"The next tip for better sound and more efficient driving by the amp section. This tip is in the instructions but easy to miss, If you are using A and B front speakers. Set the speaker ohm requirement to 6 ohms. This will really make your front speakers sing.
Take the time to tweak the sound level outputs and input level trims, this will make your listening time more enjoyable.
For the money you cannot beat this for the sound quality and the features....I like the XM radio tuner and will use it but not as much since the internet radio is free..."
