The Allied Telesis' AT-3714F is an all fiber 12-port Ethernet switch with high speed uplinks for Ethernet to Fast Ethernet connectivity. Fiber switching combines the benefits of high performance in switching with the benefits of high reliability in fiber, making it an attractive solution for many network applications. The AT-3714F switch optimizes features, functions, performance, and price to offer the best value for fiber connectivity in Ethernet switching today. The AT-3714F switch comes with flexible configuration options. The base unit comes with 12 fixed 10Base-FL ports and one 100Mbps fixed FX port. With the option for a second 10/100Mbps TX uplink or a 100Mbps FX uplink, it provides versatile configuration options for the network. It can be used to link hubs to increase performance in existing shared media LANs, as well as providing dedicated bandwidth for demanding applications such as client/server and multimedia applications. The AT-3714F provides all the benefits of fiber. It is superior in its immunity to environmental noise and is capable of delivering error-free transmission over longer distances. This results in fewer outages, less downtime, and greater reliability.
