"Bulit-in booster provides excellent picture quality over long HDMI cable runs"
Pros: Compact, remote infra-red eye allows you to hide it in a cabinet
Cons: Slightly slow response when changing from one HDMI input to another
Summary: It's common now with the influx of Home Theaters to have HDMI cable runs between your video player and your projector or TV. I tried several different brands of HDMI switchers and none performed as well as the Accell UltraAV. I found out that most switchers support standard HDMI cable lengths and anything longer (ex: 15ft) results in power loss resulting in the unit becoming nothing more than an expensive paper weight. With the Accel UltraAV, the built-in booster handled my 15+ feet HDMI cable run with ease. The picture shows no noticeable degradation. If there is one negative, this unit doesn't have auto-switching. However this is something I can easily live with. I have had this unit in my home theater for over 4 months now and it has performed flawlessly, switching between all 4 inputs.
