"Blu-Ray and iMac Can Co-exist"
4.0 starson by ajtrekPros: Allows iMac 27" to show virtually any Blu-Ray source
Cons: Price / Connection routine - HDMI (from Blu-Ray source) > Kanex XD / Power > Kanex XD / Mini Display (from iMac) > Kanex XD / Connection process must be followed each time after a power down
Summary: Can't add much more than what's already been said by CNET. IMO 720p Blu Ray looks good on iMac 27" screen so I wouldn't call it "crummy". I like toys so $150 wasn't a deal breaker (the HDMI and Mini Display Cable are probably worth about $30). I found that performing an upgrade on my PS3 necessitates a manual reset to 720p resolution - so be forewarned. Have played several Blu-Ray movies on my iMac with no problems or lag. Using a good 2.0 or 2.1 speaker setup will offer excellent sound reproduction - I use a Creative Gigaworks T20 Series II 2.0 setup (contemplating upgrading to 2.1). I recommend the Kanex XD if only to add a little more WOW factor to an already superb display.
