Denon AVR-4308CI

Pros: Sound quality is amazing, the video processinng is top notch, the Audissey is realy working, the Rhapsody interface is decent.

Cons: HDMI input shutdown/resets randomly, wireless connection is minimal at best, still need to use the LAN, timeout on software updates with Comcast, main remote inteface is a headache, the update for Rhapsody is extra cost.

Summary: Purchased one 5 month ago, had random HDMI swicthing off and on, didn't matter which one out of the four. Tried to update SW, but timed out (Comcast), so took it back and got a replacement. Same behaviour continued till 6 weeks ago when one HDMI input went out. The repair shop tried 3 new modules and couldn't fix it, so now is sent to Denon CS. When it worked, the video quality was the best I have seen so far, my XBR6 doubled is sharpness and the contrast, level of blacks and white, realy liked the picture with any source, Blueray, DVD, standard cable. The sound is excelent also, especialy the Pure Direct, plenty of base (used with Definitive Tech Mythos STS system), but the HD sound decoding is fantastic. Rhapsody playback is good, it realy is enhancing the MP3 songs, compared with my player, although the connection loss over wireless is anoing. I tested playing files from my PC, although the file reading interface is simplistic. I liked the product when it worked, but for the quality issues, I give it a poor rating.
