"An awesome receiver. Set up is easy, lot of features." on by Adriancjones

    Pros: Easy to navigate menus
    Intuitive set up.
WiFi built in for streaming off of the Internet (does a great job)
    A lot of inputs
Digital to analog in second zone, which is great for listening to Internet radio stations in other parts of the house.

    Cons: Heavy
Connectivity to computers on your network is tricky
Picture uploads from computers on your network are slow.
Remote is kind of lame, for the money they should have included a MX880 or something similar.
Expensive but worth it in my opinion.

Summary: An excellent unit, hard to find anything out there that has all these features at any price. THX Ultra2 certification, the Graphic Interface, WiFi, Audyssey EQ with the included microphone for seamless set up (It really livened up my speakers, I used to run a B&K Ref 50) more inputs than you will ever need, including 6 HDMI inputs and 2 HDMI monitor outputs to run two different monitors consectutively, built in HD Radio, more discrete codes for your programmable remote than you can shake a stick at, and the very impressive Realta sxT2 HQV Chip for the very best video processing I/p and scaling.

    "Very disappointed" on by omarbec

    Pros: Many features

    Cons: Very Expensive and unreliable

Summary: I puchased this receiver and returned it the following day. Soon after completing all the necessary setup, suddenly it began to shutdown by itself and continued to do that every 5 minutes, the longer I was able to keep this receiver running was 25 min. After carefully checking all my wires and connections I called Denon, they advised me to disconnect everything and perform a microprocessor reset routine. I did everything and the rceiver continued to constantly shutdown by itself. I was offered an exchange for a new one but decided against it, I just don't trust it anymore. To much money for an unreliable receiver.

    Updated
I wrote an opinion based on the first AVR-5308CI I bought and was defective apparently with a bad heat sensor. After cooling down a little, I decided to accept an exchange for a new unit. Now, that is what I expected from Denon in the first place, a GREAT Receiver in every aspect. My new receiver has turned my home theater system into a real cinema house, I'm not planning to go the movies and pay those high prices anymore, I can enjoy great performance at home.
