"More then expected for the price"
Pros: Set up wasn't as bad as others I tested at he Audio Store .
Sound is great and full with properly matched speakers.
Video conversion to a 10ft diag screen blew me away (only spent $4K on the projector so it's not like I blew the kids college fund.Cons: Remote is a bit week but guess what, I never use it since like most, I picked up a unversal for the whole system.
Summary: This product was going to be a 2 year "gap filler" as I finish a long-drawn out basement home theatre / man-cave. I put the money in the room and this reciever along with a Boston Accoustic speaker settup was going to get me through.
Controls are a bit hard to deal with in a dim room. I installed a small red lamp near the gear to help out.
Long story sort, I may scrap those plans. The output is quality from CD music to Blue-Ray. I picked up a Denon Blue Ray player and the tandem plays even lower quaility home vidoes on a huge screen very well. HD Satellite hookup was a breeze and it's like being on the field and court for sports and the sound is breathtaking.
If you're in the market for something a bit more than "family room central" go with it. You won't be dissapointed and you'll save a few bucks.
Do pick up a good universal remote. At least you'll know that Denon didn't overcharge for the standard remote since most throw it in a drawer after the universal is programmed.
Good buy-don't hesitate.
