Awesome system, great value and great technologyby kinghifi - September 1, 2006
Pros: Great sound, VMAX, On Screen Set up
Cons: The system is huge
Review:
I bought this to replace a POOR denon s301 system (see my review). I wanted a system that creates virtual surround sound as I did not want so many speakers set up in my little home. The HK VMAX technology is great. It creates a very good virtual surround with only two speakers and a sub. I like the sound quality and the ease of system use. Because I bought it as a clearance as a result of newer models being introduced, it made the deal even sweeter. In truth, I would have paid full pop for it. Although the system looks cool, my only beef is its size. Otherwise, it'll be perfect.

So Far so Goodby vcwcpa - August 17, 2006
Pros: Can use Macro's on the remote
Cons: Remote does not light up
Review:
This is my first receiver, beleive it or not. So far I am happy. I love that I was able to program the remote to turn my tv, dvd and receiver on and off at the same time. I have not explored all of the features yet, but even a novice like me can get good sound with tthe receiver and some speakers. The only problem I had is the receiver shut off a couple of times in the begining and I do not know why. I assume it overheated so I unplugged it and waited awhile and it worked. I have not had the problem since the first week.

Very Impressiveby theflowdude - June 19, 2006
Pros: Great Sound, Excellent Options, smooth response
Cons: Remote may not work with older DVD players
Review:
I was upgrading from a Dolby Pro logic Receiver to Dolby Digital and DTS. I decided on the HK 135. Other models seem to have close to the same amount of features, however, this receiver had a much cleaner sound. I installed & tested it and wow what a difference, my speakers were in love... the speaker setup was a wiz, really like those options and the input selections was more than adequate for my needs. The only thing was the remote (didn't work with the DVD player I had), but that didn't bother me since I was user of more than 3 remotes (down to 2 was much better, maybe even one after the DVD player upgrade). At the time my big concern was if it really needed a Subwoofer. I wasn't planning on getting one and I didn't need it. Front speaker response was great and crisp, no need to upgrade them or the surround speakers. I must mention that it does come with a cover for the front input connections (yes), didn't like them exposed all the time. Overall it's a very good buy in the mid 200 range. You'll be pleased with this choice..

Great Reciver!by BKloppenborg - February 22, 2006
Pros: Great sound, and power
Cons: Expensive, really hard to use/Learn all the features
Review:
Great reciver i have used Pionner, Onkyo, denon and Sony recivers this smokes all of them! I like Pionner because EZ setup and sound is decent, Onkyo is my third favorite and denon second. But this reciver is SO good as far as sound compared to the others crisp clear sound and great surround sound modes, and has plenty of power. Only thing bad about this reciver is features are really lacking for the price, which is alot more expensive then some other recivers. I paid 260 for mine and that was because the store i went at was clearing them out for the newer model.. Its also hard as a mother to set up everything, figure out how to operate the thing... I would suggest thing reciver to anyone though "You get what you pay for."
So perfect but feature lacking which really it should have more features for the price and its hard to use/Figure out other then that perfect!

Beautiful, stylish A/V receiverby watrmeln - September 1, 2005
Pros: Stylish; simple but elegant
Cons: Programming the remote requires graduate level courses (j/k)
Review:
I purchased the AVR 135 along with the HKTS 8 speakers. This receiver is an absolute gem - it looks great, plus delivers great performance. My only criticism is that programming the universal remote requires a significant amount of time, but the instructions are very helpful.

Great sound + Stylish look!by martinhuard - June 6, 2005
Pros: Digitals inputs offers an outstanding sound quality with great speakers (Analog's great too). Tons of options thru on screen display.
Cons: Only two components video inputs. Could have been smaller.
Review:
This device offers high-end sound quality. The on screen display let you configure your system depending on what kind of speaker you plug into. The provided remote can be programmed to control any IR device! great for complex a/v systems!
