I got this for about 270 bucks at best buy and I got a deal. The sound is awesome, the setup in a snap and I have no real complaints. The Cons I spoke on earlier I really didn't expect to see in a mid range reciever like this one. I was worried about it only putting out 300 watts, but trust me wattage is not everything. It had more than enough power for a great sound. Unless you have a huge living room, you don't need more than what this has to offer.

"Great sound quality, but controls are "laggy.""

Sound quality, connectivity, and style.

I bought this receiver in November 2007 as a Christmas gift to myself. Ever since, I have been stunned by the sound quality of this unit. Although weighing in at only 60 watts, the AVR 146's high-current amp certainly delivers a massive punch.

However, two things prevent me from giving this product a five-star rating. The controls are laggy, sometimes becoming totally unresponsive. This appears to be a common defect, but not all units suffer from it.

Next, is the annoying blue light behind the power button on the front of the unit. All of the lighting on the unit, except for this one, can be dimmed. I really don't know what these guys were thinking (maybe they weren't), but this kills the controlled lighting in my theater room.

For under $300, I don't have much to complain about. It's a great receiver, but I might invest in something better next time.
