Perfect reciever

Pros: Looks great, sounds Perfect, easy to use.

Cons: No HDMI port.....When I got this HDMI was not the standard, so its not a fault of the reciever its just a fact.

Review: This receiver ties in the black and silver components on my entertainment system. I really enjoy how nice it looks under my 60" Sony screen. The 7.1 sound is perfect in every channel. I would suggest this receiver to anyone that does not need HDMI switching!

Fantastic!

Pros: Quality, Design, Sound

Cons: My wife thinks that I love it more than her.

Review: I have been using Harmon Kardon products since the late seventies and have always loved them. For some reason during the early 90's I started to purchase Pioneer Elite products, I Think it was the piano black design, anyway they were nice, but they are not Harmon Kardon. I just recently purchased the AVR 335 to replace a Pioneer Elite and the only thing I can say is WOW! You wouldn't think there would be a noticable difference but there is a big difference in overall sound quality. I will never purhase any other brand again. HK all the way!

OMG I am in love with a reciver

Pros: Fantasic sound! Features, power, and looks

Cons: Expensive, hard to use but this one easier then last HK AVR 135

Review: Well i have had Sony, Onkyo, and Pionner recivers. I bought this one because my Onkyo TX SR503 after 3 weeks died after i bought it from Onkyo and they MADE me wait and refused to replace it within 30 day return policy. SO after 2 months i got it back 2/17 and plugged it in. SNAP CRACK POP it smoked and died again after i pluged it in for ONE min.. SO i said screw it i am getting a new reciver i first looked at brands and found out from friends, and boss. Denon, and HK was my best best, at first was was worried because of price its ALOT of money.. But i decided to give this one a try and WOW its great! Sound is crip and it has alot more features then my last HK AVR 135 did, plenty of power and it looks expensive! (Which is kinda is but not that bad) I almost gave me parents a heart attack they saw it and asked Holy how much did you pay for it? It looks expensive.. LOL But only thing that is bad is its still harder to use/figure out compared to other recivers. I think HK knew this and has made it easier with this reciver compared to AVR 135. It automaticly detects which format, and signal to use, BIG inprovment. Its still tricky and remote still gives me heartache but this reciver is so worth it!

Could Not Be Happier

Pros: Full Featured, Awesome Sound, Crisp

Cons: Tricky Digital Setup

Review: When I went to upgrade my home theatre setup I purchased the AVR 335. I had a hard time justifying a $500.00 receiver. After getting it home with my new center channel and sub, I could not be happier. With the optical hookups my DVDs and Xbox sound great. DVDs with DTS are amazing. The sound snaps through the room. It's by far the best purchase I've made in my home theatre.

Unbelieveable sound relisten to all your CD's

Pros: Clearity,Power,Underated wattage, easy set up,Everything a beginner could use,Home theater effects are amazing

Cons: I guess the only downfall is it's not the AVR740 ,but as soon as I can afford it I will own it.Harman Karden fan for life!!

Review: I just purchased this unit after years of great service from a Pioneer vsx 508.100 watts per channel and Cerwin vega speakers I thought that system rocked.I bought the AVR 335 for home theater only ,I thought at 55 watts per channel I'll get a good 5-1 surround out of it but not nearly loud enough for my classic's.I was way off base I cant imagine 100 watts Harman Kardon style.Truely amazing and worth every penny!Try it you will be Amazed!!

Absolutely Phenomenal All Around!!!

Pros: SOUND QUALITY!, power output, features, looks, auto on screen configuration at the push of a button, effect options, dual remotes for multi-room use, tons of ports.

Cons: Some reading and patience will be required in the beginning to fully understand all the features - this should be expected of a great product.

Review: When my 5 year old pioneer receiver blew out it's left channel, I knew I would need to look for a new receiver. After much research and review here on Cnet, along with other sites, I made the decision to go with the AVR-335.

Because the unit and technology have come so far within the last 5 or so years from when I bought my last receiver, some reading is required as you go along, however I had my system set back up in about 5-10 minutes with no problems whatsoever. There is also a cool little virtual speaker that you set in the middle of the room, and the receiver will automatically configure by setting the power, sound type, delays, etc for each individual speaker based on exactly how your room and speakers are placed..... this feature alone is amazing, and saved me time and trouble of having to optimize it for the best sound....it does it all for you! (but you can still customize if you want).

When all said and done, the sound quality that this baby provides will do nothing but absolutely blow you away!!! Despite the fact that it has 55 watts per channel, this should not defer you in anyway from buying this unit... as someone else mentioned and I can confirm, it does and will blow away other 100+ watt per channel receivers based on the true power technology that Harman Kardon uses. All I did was change receivers, and I am amazed at the difference in overall sound and quality..... It fills the room with so much crisp, accurate sound and rich filled clean & clear bass, I feel like I just went out and bought 5 more speakers and another sub or something...honestly!

I use my new AVR 335 along with a 61" DLP High Definition TV, along with the Bose Accoustmass speaker package, and I can assure you of this..... There's not a movie theater out there that can touch what my home theater now looks and sounds like! Harman Kardon is absolutey the way to go - at the end of the day remember....you get what you pay for!

Amazing Receiver and great value

Pros: Outstanding sound, plenty of inputs

Cons: The Remote is annoying; Get a Harmony. Multi-room requires patience

Review: I had an Onkyo that I loved until it died. I'm into tech stuff and I remembered H-K from my Dad's system when I was a kid, so I was interested. I spoke with a friend who is an A/V pro and he just loves H-K and specifically the AVR-335. I bought it online and when this baby arrived I installed it immediately. Like I said, I loved Onkyo, but this baby's performance puts it to shame.

The remote however is annoying at best if you want to set up macro's for other equipment. If you set it up to turn on the receiver, cable box and tv, it cannot set the tv to s-video, or component. Also, once the system is up and running, you need to press the AVR button to adjust volume. Now, you can't change channels and if you press the button for the cable box, which is vid 2, it powers the box off. Great. My solution was a simple one. The same A'V pro directed me to the "Harmony" remote. You configure this remote attached to your PC with a supplied USB cord. Then, you select the components from their database, and you select what you want it to do. There is more, but that's for another review.

The AVR-335 is wonderfully priced and packed with features of higher dollar receivers. For the money < $500.00, one is touching the high end scale. Don't pass this baby up unless you don't like the blue lit volume knob. It didn't bother me, but some people don't care for it. The receiver looks great (black and silver), it's rugged, it has a fan, it has enough inputs in the rear, and the front as well (A/V, RCA, Opt, S-Vid) for all the gamers, Ipod's or video camera owners.

Yep, I love it! BTW, I am not happy with Onkyo, and I have a lot of their gear too!
