"absolutely incredible!!"
on by brandonm3Pros gorgeous to look at, stunning to listen to
Cons consumes a lot of power
Summary i bought this after taking back an onkyo 602 a day after purchase. - the onkyo was nothing but problems right out of the box - possibly a defective unit and i know onkyo's are good products - but not in my case.
got a great deal on the HK, couldn't pass it up as the wife was pushing me to get it because it looked prettier than the other ones. i on the other hand don't require much prodding either when i'm given the ok to purchase something that is levels ahead of what i was planning on purchasing. plus, the audio system in my car is an HK and sounds spectacular! (M3). so... right out of the box, this thing sounded great! after a little tweaking it sounds better than i could ever imagine - crystal clear quality sound - gorgeous enough to have its own place in the Met - easy to set up - and every necessary feature and surround option that even the most discerning audiophile and geek would be proud of. Bottom line.. this thing rocks! -
"Best reciver for the Money"
on by shager350zPros Great sound, Lots of hookups, Easy setup
Cons Cant think of any
Summary So I just bought this reciver to replace a Pionner Elite reciver that well Fried. The pionner was a vary good reciver, but this HK blows it out of the water!! The power rating on the HK is much lower that the pioneer. But 75watts on the HK is like 120watts on any other reciver. It was vary easy to setup and has better sound than my THX ULTRA Pionner ever had. This is on hell of a reciver. With more gizmos and gagets than you will ever use.
If you are a audio freak like my self you can't beat it! My pionner was over $2000.00 and this reciver cost me $845.95 so the price point and quality make it a 10 in my book. -
"We here feel this is the best sound system on the market today for the money."
on by tstattonPros Crisp clear sound and balance with the EQ for each room size and shape
Cons Can't think of any
Summary We purchased ours at Vidio Only 5 months ago for $800.00 and haven't found any thing our place that can compare. The sound is so good that we have a hard time not listening to music or movies. I know that you can pay more and get more connections but not better sound. It is also a great looking addition to our home furnishings. I recommend the Harman Kardon AVR 635 to anyone that wants great sound with ease of use and good looks for the money.

"The sound quality just blew us away !"
on by bruno101Pros The sound tells the whole story and your neighbors will hate you!
Cons Setup was time consuming but worth it !
Summary We just got our AVR635 last week and let me tell you anyone looking to create a home theater that rocks this is it. I spent a lot of time researching all the different price ranges of A/V receivers when trying to select the right one. I wanted clean sound, clear highs and quailty bass reproduction not just run of the mill ho hum bang bang sound. I wanted live realistic blow me away sound reproduction and we got. So tell the neighbors good by because it rocks the roof.

"Excellent product"
on by ravivenkateshPros Tons of inputs and outputs; more than enough wattage for most rooms; speaker set-up easy
Cons Optical output sockets flimsy; the caps break and then the optical plug does not fit snugly
Summary I have had this for a few days. Great machine. Being a normal user, I doubt I will ever use all the functions, knobs, outputs, inputs... or ever turn the volume all the way up.
The optical sockets' little caps break off when you pull out the optical plus - mine were spring loaded Monster optical cables, which now don't fit very well. I should have been more careful.
You should also be careful not to pull the digital cabled out when in use - the microprocessor is very picky. My optical outputs stopped working - I sent email to HK, got a response within hours telling me to reset the microprocessor (press 2 buttons at the same time,,,) and the outputs are fine now.
